Painting in Hermitage where I lived much of my adult life~!

It was so much fun being in Hermitage Friday night.  I have awesome memories from the way it was before all these awesome shops became a huge part of the landscape.  You guys paint great~!   What fun we had,  looking forward to painting with you next month~!  I've tried multiply times to upload photos from this night but am unable to get them here.  I'll try again later.  sooooo sorry.  You can see them on FB as they posted just fine there.  Go figure~!

artists and angels

The two taller "kids" have already been studying art at their school and have been to a few classes at the art school in Hohenwald where we hold these classes.  The two little girls came because they have very supportive grand mothers who have been students for the last 6 months.  The little ones have been wanting to join them so we created a class (their choosing) that they could participate and enjoy. Actually, they painted the whole thing with very little instruction from either their grand mothers or myself.  It was a really fun night.  It's exciting when kids are encouraged to express their artistic abilities.

Awesome painting tonight~!

You guys were awesome~!  You get better and better.  I'm so proud of your paintings.  Nola, I think this is your best work.  And Joe, is that a frown on your face when you gave us so many laughs tonight. If I'd noticed before you left, I would have reshot the photo. It was fun having Debbie from Memphis tonight.  You ladies who come in saying you just can't paint ,......  and THEN you just paint so beautifully.  WOW~!

Little Red Church Class

This fall I painted a little church plein air that was built in the late 1800's.  It's still in operation just outside of Columbia.  It's called St. John's Church. Here are some of the folks who painted the little red church this week. I can't believe I forgot to post these.  I was amazed at how wonderful you all painted.  I was concerned because I thought it might prove too hard.  Not for you guys~!  I'm beginning to think I can't put anytihing  in front of you that you won't try...and do well.  You're amazing...and soooo much fun to paint with.  Can you guess which one has only painted twice?

This was the first painting the second woman from the left had painted.  You women rock~!  Everyone of you are awesome artists~!~!~!  We met Saturday at Music and The Arts on Main and painted a couple of hours before taking a break for a really good lunch at the Emporium across the street.  We hurried back to finish and make it home in time for afternoon tea....or to run to the other side of Nashville for my parents celebration of their 60th anniversary.  A wonderful day.  ahhhhhh

Teachers Can Really Paint

Last night several of the finest teachers I've ever met came together to have a little fun.  No wonder your town is recognized as having some of the best young people in Tennessee.

Last week during class one of the women got a text from her husband telling her "you're painting a picture of an angel, must be a self portrait".  Made us all jealous~!   Smart man~!
